Fall in Kitsap County has its own kind of magic — crisp air, cozy sweaters, and weekends filled with pumpkins, hayrides, and a little bit of spooky fun. 🍂
As someone who was born and raised here in Kitsap (and still calls North Kitsap home!), this is hands-down one of my favorite times of year. Our community truly comes alive with local markets, family traditions, and festive events that remind me why I love calling this place home.
Whether you’re new to the area or have lived here for years, here are some can’t-miss happenings around North Kitsap this October:
🥕 Fat Turnip Market & Pumpkin Patch
📍 Open Monday–Saturday, 10am–5pm
This local gem is perfect for stocking up on seasonal produce, fresh flowers, and of course—pumpkins! It’s one of my favorite stops for a family afternoon out and a great spot to support local growers.
🌿 Haunted Heronwood Garden
📍 October 17th–18th, 5–9pm
Get ready for some spooky fun at this unique, locally loved event. The gardens transform into a haunted wonderland—great for older kids (and brave adults!).
🥚 Glow-in-the-Dark Candy Egg Hunt at Olmsted Tree Farms
📍 Select Dates – Tickets Required
This twist on a spring tradition is such a fun idea! Kids get to hunt for glowing eggs filled with candy under the stars. A perfect evening memory-maker.
🎃 Bloedel Reserve Annual Squash Hunt
📍 October 1–31, Tuesday–Sunday 10am–5pm
The Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island is already stunning, but in October, it becomes a whimsical fall playground. The Annual Squash Hunt is perfect for little ones and includes gorgeous trails to stroll while you’re there.
👻 Boo! Haunted Hayride
📍 October 21st–23rd, 5:50–8:50pm
Grab your cozy blanket and hop on a hayride that’s full of Halloween spirit (and maybe a few surprises).
🕯️ Port Gamble Ghost Tour
📍 Every Friday & Saturday in October, 7–10pm
Take a guided walk through Port Gamble’s haunted history. Reservations are required, and spots go quickly!
🍬 Halloween Trick-or-Treating

Grab the kids and your costumes for trick-or-treating in some of our favorite North Kitsap communities:
